Vegan Churros



What we love about this recipe is that it’s quick, easy, cheap, has accessible ingredients found in most grocery stores, and pairs perfectly with Lekkco. This warm fried snack/dessert can be made in large batches, and is a great way to entertain guests.

  • 00 1 cup Water
  • 00 2 ½ tbsp Sugar
  • 00 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 00 ½ tsp Salt
  • 00 1 cup All Purpose Flour
  • 00 1 - 2 qt. Vegetable oil (depending on the size of your frying pan)
  • 00 ½ cup Sugar
  • 00 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 00 ¼ cup Lekkco
  • 00 In a medium saucepan, combine water, 2 ½ T. sugar, 2 T. oil, and salt over medium - high heat. Stir and bring to a boil. Turn the heat down to low.
  • 01 Add the flour in all at once and stir vigorously until it has fully combined. Remove from heat. This dough wi ll get really thick.
  • 02 Give the dough time to cool down enough to add to the piping bag. Heat the oil in the frying pan until it reaches 375F then turn it down to medium - low.
  • 03 Using a medium star - tip, pipe the dough into the hot oil carefully and use scissors or a knife to cut off each piece. Do not crowd the oil with churros and check the temperature between batches. Fry each piece until golden brown and flip when needed.
  • 04 Place a paper towel over a wire rack or baking sheet to drain the excess oil off the churros.
  • 05 Once all the churros are cooked and cooled, combine the ½ c. sugar and cinnamon on a plate. Poke a hole through the center of the churros and roll the churros in the cinnamon sugar.
  • 06 Using a sandwich bag or piping bag, fill with Lekkco and cut the e nd off small enough to stick in the end of the churros. Fill the churros carefully and enjoy!
