Croissant Donuts (Cronut)



This croissant and donut collaboration created one of the most popular food trends in 2013. We were feeling nostalgic, and created these to remind us of when we were in NYC picking these out from the bakery.

  • 00 1 Sheet store - bought Puff pastry
  • 00 ½ c. Cinnamon Sugar
  • 00 ¼ - ½ c. Lekkco
  • 00 Egg wash
  • 00 Preheat the oven to 350F or to 325F if using a toaster oven. Grease or line a baking sheet with parchment and set aside.
  • 01 Thaw the puff pastry dough as instructed, dust some flour on a clean work surface, and roll out the sheet dough just enough to even it out.
  • 02 Using a cookie cutter of your choice, cut out as many donuts as you can. Do not reuse the scraps.
  • 03 To fill the donuts, Spread some Lekkco into the center of one cut out, leaving at least an inch on all sides clear. Dab the egg wash onto the edge and seal in the Lekkco with another cut out.
  • 04 Bake for 12 - 15 minutes. Once cooled down enough to handle, roll each donut in cinnamon sugar and decorate with Lekkco as the frosting. Enjoy!
